L1 19th round prospects preview
By: Evilo | December 20th, 2008
Here’s a preview of the U22 prospects in action tonight and tomorrow.
Lorient – Rennes
Watch out for Gameiro, he’s as hot as they come right now.
For Rennes, Lemoine will try to rebound on his average performances of the last few weeks.
Lille – Le Havre
Hazard should start on the bench, Cabaye will shoot for the Man of the Match award and Emerson will combine with Bastos to create danger on the left wing.
For Le Havre, Nestor might see time.
Grenoble – Le Mans
Feghouli has to play better at some point. His stock is steadily decreasing. Paillot might see time and that’s good news.
For Le Mans, Bouhours, Maiga, Gervinho, Louvion and Coutadeur will start as favourites in this matchup.
Nantes – Sochaux
Jokic, Carlao and Erding could have a nice card to play here in Nantes.
Toulouse – Nice
Toulouse will basically start the same team as last week, which featured Capoue and Sissoko.
For Nice, Ospina will try to continue to build on his growing reputation as the next big time goalie.
St Etienne – Auxerre
Payet should start on the right side, with Machado and Matuidi in midfield (high time Matuidi played at his real spot). Benalouane should start at CB.
Caen – Lyon
Lloris will shoot for the clean sheet (which should be hard to get) and Gassama could see time. Benzema will start and should see plenty of opportunities against Caen, which likes to play offensive football.
PSG – Valenciennes
Sanchez will surely try to score another beauty, but will most likely be very steady in midfield.
Marseille – Nancy
Samassa and Ben Arfa should be enough to earn OM 3 points tomorrow.
Dia should cause some problems with his speed to OM’s slow defense.
Monaco – Bordeaux
Pino, Mollo and Nkoulou might see time and will try to rebound from their poor result last week in VA.
Bordeaux will try to build on their growing confidence, and Gourcuff and maybe Traoré should help.
Top 3 predictions :
1- Benzema : Caen will go forward and leave space to Super Benzema.
2- Matuidi : back to his old position and at home against Auxerre.
3- Cabaye : Lille should pocket 3 points against Le Havre, and Cabaye will prove useful for that.
Flop 3 predictions :
1- Sanchez : PSG’s midfield is hard to deal with.
2- Feghouli : he hasn’t been good in a while.
3- Lemoine : Lorient is hot.
