August 2010 Top 50 prospects : 31-40By: Evilo | August 8th, 2010
Here are the players ranked from 31st to 40th on my new top 50 list.
31- Franck Tabanou (U), Toulouse, LW, 89
Rating : 8 C-, Valbuena
Talent : Tabanou is a skilled winger, who likes to dribble down the left wing. He has a nice shot too. He obviously needs to work on his consistency and finishing.
32- Dejan Lovren (U), Lyon, CB, 89
Rating : 7.5 B, Vidic
Talent : Lovren is a solid physical defenseman who can play any defensive position, including DM. He has an interesting package of tools and is not bad with long passes too.
33- Jirès Kembo-Ekoko (30), Rennes, LW, 88
Rating : 7.5B-, Diomède
Talent : Kembo is a pinball who loves dribbling. He really only plays well when he’s trying to beat defensemen one on one. He didn’t get enough playing time last season, but he is still thought of highly among Rennes officials.
34- Nicolas Nkoulou (31), Monaco, CB/DM, 90, Cameroon
Rating : 8.5D, Blanc
Talent : Nkoulou is a very smart and talented defenseman who needs to grow in his body and become more physical. He has trouble against physical forwards but he has a lot of tools to become a world class defenseman. He was disappointing last year, but the potential is there.
35- Cheikh M’Bengué (32), Toulouse, LB, 88
Rating : 7.5 B, Sagna
Talent : He is a solid LB who plays a simple yet efficient game. He’s not always at ease going forward but he is making strides.
36- Steeven Langil (U), Auxerre, AM, 88
Rating : 8 C, Gouffran
Talent : Langil is a nice winger, who was loaned to Caen last year in L2. He was extremely successful with the L2 champion and Auxerre refused to sell him. They got him back and he should see more L1 time this year.
37- Anthony Modeste (U), Nice, Striker, 88
Rating : 8 C, Erding
Talent : Modeste’s loan in L2 this year was a total success. He gained confidence, scored a lot and used his assets well (speed, ball protection). Some bigger teams want to sign him, but so far Nice has said no.
38- Abdelhamid El-Kaoutari (U), Montpellier, CB, 90
Rating : 7.5 B-, Yahia
Talent : Solid defenseman who can play in different positions. He has to work on his focus and communication, but he should be a L1 defenseman for years.
39- Mathieu Dreyer (U), Sochaux, GK, 89
Rating : 8 C-, Cech
Talent : Dreyer is a tall goalie with a lot of poise. He’s solid in the air and has good reflexes.
40- Frédéric Nimani (39), Monaco, Striker, 88
Rating : 8 D, Kanouté
Talent : Nimani is a tall striker with good technical skills and a big body. He lacks physical force, he could weigh on defenses more. His biggest drawback is his lack of speed and inconsistency.
